1. Approach to Protection of Personal Information

Kobelco Wire Co., Ltd. (“the Company”) recognizes that the appropriate protection of the personal information of every customer, business partner or other person who provides it to the Company (“the Individual”) is a solemn duty. To fulfill this duty, the Company handles personal information in accordance with the following policy.
(1) The Company strictly complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other related laws and regulations that apply to personal information. The Company handles personal information appropriately in conformity with customary practice on the handling of personal information that is generally recognized to be fair and reasonable. Moreover, the Company strives as appropriate to improve its handling of personal information.
(2) The Company establishes clear regulations on the handling of personal information and diligently informs its employees of those regulations. The Company also supervises its contractors as necessary and appropriate.
(3) When handling personal information, the Company specifies the purposes for which the personal information is used, notifies of and publishes said purposes, and handles the personal information in accordance with said purposes.
(4) To prevent the leak, loss, tampering or other mishandling of personal information, the Company devises and appropriately manages necessary countermeasures.
(5) If the Company receives a request from the Individual through the appropriate contact points for the disclosure, correction, deletion or suspension of use of the personal information it holds with respect to the Individual, the Company complies faithfully with said request.

2. Purposes of Use of Personal Information

The Company may use personal information acquired by suitable means, with references to laws, ordinances and regulations, within the scope necessary to conduct its business operations, as follows:

2) To develop products and services
3) To purchase materials, goods and services
4) To respond to inquiries from the Individual

3．Disclosure and Provision to Third Parties

The Company does not disclose or provide personal data to third parties, except to its contractors and/or when any of the conditions listed below are met:
1) The Individual has agreed to the disclosure or provision.
2) The data are disclosed or provided in ways in which the Individual cannot be identified, such as in the form of statistical data.
3) The disclosure or provision is required by law.
4) The disclosure or provision is required to protect human life, limb or property, and it is difficult to obtain the Individual’s consent.
5) A national, regional or local government, etc. requires the Individual’s cooperation in the performance of public duties, and obtaining the Individual’s consent would hamper the performance of the duties.
6) The personal data are to be shared with a specified person, and the Individual or the public has been notified in advance regarding the items of personal data to be used jointly, the scope of persons who will use the personal data jointly and the identity of the person responsible or management of the purpose of use.

4. Disclosure

If the Individual requests the disclosure of the Individual’s personal data held by the Company, upon confirming that the person requesting the disclosure is the Individual, the Company provides the information within a reasonable time-frame and scope.

5. Correction, Deletion, etc.

If the Individual requests correction, supplementation or deletion of the Individual’s personal data held by the Company, upon confirming that the person requesting the correction, supplementation or deletion is the Individual, and if the information held differs from the truth, the Company corrects, supplements or deletes the information within a reasonable time-frame and scope.

6. Suspension of Use and Elimination

If the Individual requests the suspension of use or elimination of the Individual’s personal data held by the Company, upon confirming that the person requesting the suspension of use or elimination is the Individual, the Company suspends use of or eliminates the information within a reasonable time-frame and scope. The individual is asked to understand that said suspension of use or elimination, in whole or in part, may unintentionally result in the Company’s inability to provide service in accordance with the Individual’s wishes. (In some cases the Company may be unable to comply with the Individual’s request for suspension of use or elimination of the Individual’s personal data held by the Company, in accordance with related laws and regulations.)
